Meet Dr. Deborah Hamilton Frazier

Dr. Deborah Hamilton Frazier currently serves as the Principal at Chancellor Middle School in Spotsylvania, Virginia. Through her transformative leadership, she led Chancellor to Full Accreditation in one year. Also under her leadership, she has helped to establish many business partnerships to help mentor and develop students. She also served as the Principal of Harrison Road Elementary School for 15 years. Under Mrs. Frazier’s leadership, Harrison Road was the recipient of several awards such as The Governor’s VIP Competence to Excellence Award 2008, 2010, and 2011; The Board of Excellence Award 2009; The Title I Distinguished Award 2005, 2009, and 2010.

Deborah served as one of the Co-Chairs of Governor McAuliffe’s SOL Innovation Committee. This committee was established as a part of House Bill 930. She has spoken publicly as an advocate for education. She had met with members of the General Assembly as well as members of Congress in support of the Reauthorizations of the Education Act of 1968/No Child Left Behind and IDEA.

Deborah served as President, past president, and Director of The Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals and State leader for the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

Dr. Frazier also served as the Zone 3 Director for the National Association of Elementary School Principals representing principals in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and Washington, D.C. from 2016 to 2019.

Deborah graduated from South Carolina State University with a B.S. Degree and a Master’s Degree in Education. She also earned a second Master of Arts Degree from Furman University in Leadership and Supervision. Her ambition and her quest to become an expert in her field led her to pursue her Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from Walden University in 2020. Dr. Frazier is a member of Sylvannah Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is married to George Frazier and is the mother of 3 children (RaShad, Jasmine, and Janay). She has three granddaughters (Faith Elizabeth, Hope Catherine, and Grace Marie and a Grandson Henry III due to be born this fall).
